Limoncello DICAPRI was born on the island of Capri, a place of unique natural beauty that discovered a vocation for the art of hospitality at the beginning of the 19th century. In the early 20th century Vincenza Canale, the trailblazing host and landlady of the famous Mariantonia hotel, started offering homemade limoncello to her guests. Carrying on family traditions, in 1988 her descendants founded
Limoncello di Capri S.r.l., the first company to patent and use the name “limoncello”, a tweak on the ancient Caprese dialect word limonillo. The original recipe created by Vincenza Canale is still used to this day. Limoncello DICAPRI is made exclusively with P.G.I. Sorrento Lemons, also known as “Ovali di Sorrento” for their oval shape, which grow on the Sorrento peninsula and the island of Capri.
